Mehmet Akif ÇAKMAK graduated from Erzurum Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine on July 15, 2011. He received his Plastic Surgery specialization from the same university on February 24, 2017.

He started his career as a physician at Erzurum Palandöken State Hospital between 2011-2012. He worked at Atatürk University Department of Plastic Surgery between 2012-2017. He completed his compulsory service in the same department in 2017-2018. He worked at Erzurum Private Buhara Hospital in 2019-2020, and then worked as a faculty member at Atatürk University Department of Plastic Surgery between 2020-2022. He worked at Clinicexpert Istanbul in 2022-2023, and at Rhinoplasty Turkey Clinic Istanbul in 2023-2024.
